Parent Letter

Hello Parents!
First we want to thank you for your patience as we work hard to get everything prepared for the season. We know it was very last minute and may seem a little overwhelming right now but we promise we are doing all we can to make this first season the best we can! We are so excited to coach your girls this season in Indy Youth Cheerleading. As you have seen on Facebook, we are apart of the Independence Youth Football Club. This was the easiest way to ensure your girls were covered under insurance (which allows them to be on the track during games)!
For this season, your registration fee is covering the cost of your child’s uniform, bow and insurance. We purchased poms for the girls to use which will stay with the club for future use in order to be able to reduce cost in the future.
You will keep your child’s uniform and any bows that we pass out this year. If the uniform still fits next year, then you can register your child for a reduced fee ($20). Additionally, any 6th graders that will be moving up to middle school cheer next year will have the option to sell their uniform to a younger girl. That will be up to the individual families.

What you will need to provide for your child is the following:
  • Black spandex or “bloomers” to be worn under their skirts. (These can be found at any sporting good store, online and even Walmart.)
  • White ankle socks
  • White Athletic shoes (any brand that fits your family budget will work)

Cheerleaders are encouraged to wear their uniform to school on game days. When they are in uniform, we expect their behavior to be exemplary as cheerleaders should be role models for positivity and good sportsmanship!

Some basic rules:
  • Absolutely NO GUM CHEWING at practice or games.
  • Always throwaway trash after practice and games.
  • No make-up or jewelry is permitted during games.
  • Hair must be pulled back and off your face and wear your hair bow!

If you haven’t joined the REMIND Group yet, you can do so by texting @indyyout to 81010
We’ve included the game schedule for both squads. Remember, away games are purely optional. We will ask every week who is able to attend the away games so we can get a head count but there is no pressure or consequences for missing an away game. However, we would really like to encourage everyone to attend every home game especially since there are only three!
If you have any questions, please let us know!

Go Bulldogs!
